I know many of you have been waiting for some time for us to update the website. Thank you for your patience.
We are now accepting applications here.
A few notes for the upcoming seasons:
For a multitude of reasons we will only allow a very limited number of hunters here this year.
Priority will be given to those with EARLY SEASON BULL TAGS and those who are willing to hunt white tail DOES.
You will likely have to haul your own harvested animals out to a central location. Please come prepared, in the past we have by times offered to haul animals out for hunters and that MAY be an option but less likely than it has been in the past.
Parking this year will be just off the big corner on the gravel road as you come down toward the houses. I will try and have this marked. It is likely we will have cattle at the end of the hay field where there has been parking before which could damage vehicles if they are left there.
No access will be given from the north end of the property.
The good news is (and some of you will like this) we will allow hunting on most Sundays.
I will do my best to keep up with emails as I realize the early elk season will be beginning before we know it !
October 26th Update
We have had no elk here during the early elk season, nothing has been harvested.
In regard to white tail deer priority will be given to those hunters who have a willingness to shoot a white tail doe should they not happen to find a buck which is very worthwhile shooting. For the last number of years at least 12 or 15 bucks have been harvested here every year and no does. Many of those bucks are quite small. Additionally there are a number of deer hunters who come here during the season and spend many days here yet leave without shooting anything even though they are given many opportunities to harvest a doe. Our approach to this will not be for every deer hunter out there - and that is totally fine with us - however it has given us an opportunity to discuss further with hunters the white tail deer population in the area and different perspectives on it.
During the LATE elk season only it is highly recommended that you contact me via cell phone (call or text) to see if we have any elk around. The hunting in this season is very different from the others which is why we recommend checking in before accessing the property on your booked days.
Again - I apologize for being very late in responding to permission. This year has been an exceptionally difficult one for us, following the Kenow fire and we appreciate everyone's understanding.
Thanks
Jen
